Why the train is not bought for you

Because it costs about the same as a dinner, it runs several times a day, and buying it in advance saves you nothing while committing you to a departure hour you cannot yet have an opinion about.

  • Everything works in English, and it is not the local language, and that difference is worth a small effort
  • Winter here is a real winter and the city is built for it. That is a reason to come, not a warning, but bring the boots
  • Some of the old quarter is steep and cobbled, and in February it is steep, cobbled and icy
  • A passport is required. Ours is a United States office and this is another country
