My Domaine Travel LLC
The Office
A small independent travel agency on Wisconsin Avenue in Washington, DC. It books trips with the companies that run them. It flies nobody, houses nobody and runs no tour, and it answers to none of the companies that do.

The seven things it is not
- Not a carrier or an operator
- it owns no aircraft, no vessel, no vehicle, no room and no tour, and it operates no part of any trip
- Not affiliated with any of them
- nobody outside this office holds a share of it, and you will find no other company's name, mark or livery anywhere in these pages
- Not anybody's authorized representative
- nobody has appointed this office to speak for them
- Not licensed or bonded
- the District of Columbia licenses no travel agency and this company has bought no bond. No license number and no bond number appears anywhere here
- Not a registered seller of travel
- four states keep such a register, being California, Florida, Hawaii and Washington State. This name appears on none of the four, and no traveler money passes through here
- Not accredited by any industry body
- no association mark is displayed. None of those bodies issues a license in any case
- Not a call center
- one office, one line, hours printed on every page, and nobody sitting here overnight
Nine claims, and what stands behind each
| The claim | Here | Standing behind it |
|---|---|---|
| A quote at no charge | Stated here | Stated. The price list for everything this office does before you commit reads $0 on every line, and it is printed on ask for a price. |
| No fee added by this office | Stated here | Stated, and narrow deliberately: this office adds nothing to what the operating company charges. What they charge is taken apart on prices. |
| A line answered at any hour | Not stated | Posted hours are Mon to Thu 9:30 am to 6 pm, Fri 9:30 am to 4 pm Eastern. Nobody sits here at three in the morning, so nothing here says anybody does. |
| Licensed and bonded | Not stated | The District licenses no travel agency, and this company has bought no bond. No license number and no bond number appears anywhere here, because there is none to print. |
| Registered seller of travel | Not stated | California, Florida, Hawaii and Washington State register sellers of travel. This company is on none of those registers, holds no traveler money, and prints no registration number. |
| Industry accreditation | Not stated | No accreditation is held and no association mark is displayed. None of those bodies issues a license in any case; they issue memberships. |
| A price match | Not stated | Matching a price is a promise about a market this office does not run. What it does instead is show the build-up, so a figure can be compared honestly. |
| Flexible cancellation | Not stated | The schedule belongs to whoever holds the booking, and it differs by band. What it costs, by band and by date. |
| Offices around the country | Not stated | One office, on Wisconsin Avenue. It works with travelers anywhere, which is a different sentence. |

Why the site is written like this
Most sites in this trade are built to reassure. This one is built to be audited.
Every assertion here points at a record on the same site that holds it up. The assertions this office cannot hold up are printed too, alongside the name of whoever would have to. That takes longer to write and it is the only version that survives a close reading.
There is a second reason, specific to being here. The District's Consumer Protection Procedures Act makes a practice unlawful whether or not anybody was actually misled, and it puts a positive duty on a business to state a material fact where leaving it out would tend to mislead. A site built the way this one is built is what that statute asks for.
