Not topics of law but moments in time. Nine of them, from the first message to after you are home, and at each one the same three lines: what binds you, what binds us, and what binds neither of us because it belongs to somebody else.

The three parties, before anything else

This company
My Domaine Travel LLC, 5100 Wisconsin Avenue NW, Washington, DC 20016. A District of Columbia company and the only one behind this site. Books trips. Holds no money. Operates no part of any trip
You
the person asking. Pays the operating company, never this desk
The operating company
the airline, hotel, ship or tour company. Runs the trip, takes the payment, and writes the rules that decide what a refund is

Using this site, or asking for a price, puts what follows between us.

From the moment you send a message until we answer it

Binding on you
nothing at all
Binding on us
to read it in posted hours and answer in writing
Binding on neither
the price, the seat and the room. Those belong to the operating company and it may withdraw them mid-sentence

From our written price until you accept it

Binding on you
nothing. It can be ignored with no consequence and no charge
Binding on us
the figure and the inclusions listed in it, for the period the document names
Binding on neither
availability. An obvious error in a figure or a description may be corrected at any time before confirmation, and if we correct one you may withdraw free of charge

The moment you accept in writing

Binding on you
your instruction to proceed, and nothing more
Binding on us
to place the booking as instructed, or to tell you the same day that it cannot be placed
Binding on neither
there is still no booking. A conversation, a call or an unanswered mail does not create one

From acceptance until the operating company confirms

Binding on you
nothing has been paid and nothing is owed
Binding on us
to act promptly and to report back in writing either way
Binding on neither
the price, until confirmed. A figure that has moved is re-priced in front of you, and nothing gets placed at a figure you never saw

From confirmation until the deposit date

Binding on you
the deposit, on the date the operating company set
Binding on us
to have given you their conditions before you committed, and to hold your documents
Binding on neither
nothing is refundable yet because nothing has been paid

From the deposit date until the balance date

Binding on you
the balance, on their date
Binding on us
to put a number on any change first, so that deciding against it stays an option
Binding on neither
the deposit is usually gone from the day it is paid, under their schedule and not ours

After the balance date

Binding on you
the full price
Binding on us
to act for you, in writing, if anything changes
Binding on neither
the returnable share now steps down by date under the operating company's schedule. We cannot waive it, override it or refund on their behalf, because the money never came here

While you are traveling

Binding on you
your own travel documents. Passports, any visa and any health requirement are yours to hold and yours to check against the issuing authority. We do not advise on immigration, visas or entry rules
Binding on us
to act for you in writing during posted hours, and in the arrival band to hold beds ahead of you at no charge
Binding on neither
weather, strikes, mechanical failure, closed roads and government action. Nobody controls them and nobody here pretends to

After you are back

Binding on you
nothing
Binding on us
to answer a complaint in writing within five business days, and to keep your booking record for seven years because tax and accounting require it
Binding on neither
this is when we are paid, out of the operating company's margin, and only if you actually traveled

Where all of it is decided

Law that governs this agreement
the District of Columbia, together with United States federal law
Where a case is heard
the courts sitting in the District of Columbia
What none of it removes
any right you hold under the law of the state you live in, including under the District's Consumer Protection Procedures Act, and any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud
Outside services
a hosting company serves these pages, and the flight search on the front page is run by a booking company that is not this one, on a subdomain of this address. Their terms cover their part, ours cover ours, and the privacy page names which is which
Using the text and pictures here
read them, print them, use them to reach us. Do not copy the site substantially, scrape it, or republish it
If this page changes
the date at the top moves with it. Whichever wording stood on the day you asked this office to act is the one that governs
